Pop group Morning Musume will hold a concert in Shanghai on June 28 as part of an international music fair. The music fair has been held since February to promote the Shanghai Expo in 2010 and Canadian singer Celine Dion and Hong Kong actor Tony Leung have participated so far. Morning Musume will be the first Japanese artists invited to the event, the organizer said Tuesday.

Ai Takahashi, 21, leader of Morning Musume, said, “We hope we will make everyone in Shanghai happy with our concert.” Chinese member of the group, Li Chun, 20, added, “It was my dream to be able to perform at a live concert in my own country. I can hardly wait.”
Morning Musume plans to hold concerts in Taiwan on May 24 and in Seoul on June 1, prior to the Shanghai event. |
